In 2004, we started building the milk processing plant here on our farm in western Guthrie County. Our dairy is what we call a "grass-based" dairy farm. Our cows are out harvesting fresh growing grass and legumes as soon as the weather permits. Early and late in the growing season we offer the cows a TMR (Total Mix Ration) of ground hay, some silage, corn mix that has mineral and vitamins, and some locally-produced distiller's grain.
